The map above shows the total amount of deaths from the coronavirus in Michigan counties as of the third of April, 2021. From looking at the map, it becomes immediately clear that the majority of deaths have come from the area surrounding the city of Detroit. This is unsurprising considering this area is among the most densely populated areas in the state. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Upper Peninsula, the least populated region, appears to have had the least amount of deaths related to the virus. Based on this, it is quite evident that social distancing is an important factor when it comes to limiting the deaths from COVID-19.
